Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of the overall application using the criteria below.
The Arc of Monroe County is privileged to offer up to five (5) scholarships to high school students attending a high school in Monroe County. The scholarship will be a minimum of $500 (five hundred dollars) per semester for one year. In order for consideration, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
The criteria for selection used are:
- Must accept paid summer internship with The Arc of Monroe County.
- Grade point average must be an 80% or above (proof will be required).
- Must be seeking a career working in the human services field, preferably with individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, or in the not-for-profit field.
- Must attend high school in Monroe County.
- Submission of volunteerism and/or other extra curricular activities. Please include employment if applicable.
