Arc of Monroe Welcomes New Senior Director of Programs, Services and Housing Development

Staff Perspectives

Welcome to Neil Cavalieri, The Arc of Monroe’s new Senior Director of Programs, Services and Housing Development! Neil comes to The Arc with seven years of experience in the disability field, including working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and Residential Habilitation Counselor, as well as in residential management, community habilitation, and fiscal intermediary services. He also worked for three years in senior care overseeing both private pay and affordable housing.

One of the priorities that The Arc of Monroe and other disability service providers currently have is finding and/or creating accessible housing for people to age in place well. As the population The Arc supports gets older, the more emphasis is placed on finding affordable, accessible housing. Neil’s experience and desire to support people with disabilities is going to help The Arc with this and other goals in many ways.

“I’m most excited about getting to know everybody. That’s been the fun part,” Neil said. “Then just growing the different programs and hopefully our housing so we can create more housing for people. Aging in place is huge, so we have to identify people within the organization who can go to a setting like that and determine who is eligible. I also look forward to figuring out what type of growth could be possible for the agency from the outside.”
