The Steve & Debbie Chartrand Professional Development Fund
The Steve & Debbie Chartrand Professional Development Fund was established in 2016 to honor Steve Chartrand, long-time Arc Foundation CEO, who is retiring at the end of 2015. Steve has played a central role in many important foundation and agency endeavors over the past 20 years. He joined the Foundation Board in 1994 after a career in radio, and was named Foundation CEO in 2004.
Under his leadership and guidance, the Foundation assets have grown considerably. Steve directed and led a successful $4.5 million capital campaign for the new Lambert Enrichment Campus and has also worked hard to ensure that the Arc name is prominent throughout our community.
As a tribute to Steve, the Arc of Monroe is establishing an Arc Foundation
endowment fund to provide educational opportunities for Arc of Monroe staff. “A person who feels appreciated will always do more than what is expected,” is one of Steve’s favorite quotes. For this reason, the focus of the Fund is to provide funding for staff interested in furthering their career in the field of developmental disabilities.
The fund will provide external and internal training opportunities for staff members to further their education in the field by enabling them to attend seminars, workshops, and conferences. The selection committee will be made up of the agency president, Steve and Debbie, an Arc Foundation board member, a member of the finance department and a member of the human resource department.
