Hi my name is Victoria Campbell. I am one of the Pathways students though the Arc of Monroe. I am starting my first Pathways semester this semester. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, my day starts off with meeting Molly, one of the Arc staff, at the Transit Center. We meet at Gate 11 and then take Bus 55 to the Brighton MCC campus. I have an 8:00am class it’s called COS (College Orientation and Success Strategies) 133 which is required for entering college students. After class on Mondays and Wednesdays, I have my internship at the Brighton Bookstore. In my internship I put size sticker on the clothes, fold them and put them out on the shelves. I learned how to use the pricing gun, it’s really fun! Next month my supervisor says I will be training on the cash register. I’m excited but nervous.
After my internship, Molly and I take the connector bus back to the Downtown Campus. When I get back, I have lunch and after lunch on Mondays I have my club meeting, Honorable Women’s Club. Then I have Survival Skills with Megan and Molly.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have my whole day at the Downtown Campus. I start with Career Development with Michelle and
Megan and then we use the Fitness Center to work out. After that I have time to study and get homework and projects done for my COS133 class.
Fridays after my class is our community based learning day. We have fun on those days and come back to have team building with the whole group. This month my favorite Friday was when we took a hike by the zoo.
