Day Habilitation

The Arc of Monroeā€™s day habilitation services throughout Monroe County give people opportunities to learn new skills, build lasting friendships and give back to their community.

Our Day Services

Ballantyne

We designed Ballantyne to support the specific needs of older adults, including those with dementia. We provide participants with a host of engaging activities, like horticulture, fitness and music classes, and massage therapy.

Behavior Support

Behavior Support is available to people receiving services in an Arc residential or day habilitation program. We help people have the best possible behavioral health, which may include helping them learn skills to better manage their behaviors in a variety of settings, (i.e., community, day site, or home).

Community Arts Connection

The Community Arts Connection provides a diverse array of offerings in the arts that encourages creativity and self-expression. Activities include a dance troupe, community-based musical group, and classes in the visual, fiber and literary arts.

Community Connections

At Community Connections, we spend half of the day volunteering in the community to build social dexterity and on-the-job skills, and the remainder of the day learning responsibilities and expectations in a team-based environment.

Community Exploration

Community Exploration is a popular, non-traditional day habilitation service that enables people to be more independent. After a brief check-in for attendance, they then go out into the community and volunteer for four to five hours each day.

Community Habilitation

Community Habilitation at The Arc of Monroe helps people become as independent as possibly by building daily living skills in the community while getting the opportunity to try new things and explore fun activities.

Fairport

This innovative program at Fairport offers extensive, wide-ranging services for those with autism. Autism specialists provide therapeutic services, fitness programs at the local YMCA, and utilize hands-on activities to develop peopleā€™s communication and social skills.

Lambert

A new state-of-the art facility, spacious core rooms, extensive therapy equipment and strong community volunteer programs are the hallmarks of this program.

Silver Lining

The Silver Linings program, or "Retirement Without Walls" program, at the Arc of Monroe offers a unique opportunity for those of retirement age to gather and spend time with one another in the community participating in integrated activities with local organizations such as the YMCA Silver Sneakers.
