The Arc of Monroe Awarded over $288,000 in Grants from NYSARC Trust Services
The Arc of Monroe, a not-for-profit organization supporting people with disabilities in Monroe County, has been awarded $288,322 in grants from the Trustee Management Board of NYSARC Trust Services to support The Arc of Monroe’s guardianship and recreation programs.
NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs trusts (SNT) and pooled trusts that can make dramatic improvements to the lives of people with disabilities by enabling individuals to maintain financial eligibility for Medicaid and other means-tested government benefit programs. For 2026, NYSARC Trust Services is proud to fulfill its commitment to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by awarding grant dollars to The Arc New York Chapters statewide.

This year, The Arc of Monroe received $207,850 to provide guardianship services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who would not otherwise have a legal guardian or advocate. Supported by Chapter staff and community volunteers, The Arc of Monroe’s Guardianship Program currently provides guardianship supports and services to 34 people and is ready to assist 17 more as a Standby or Alternate Standby guardian.
NYSARC Trust Services also awarded The Arc of Monroe $17,472 to support new recreational opportunities and enrich the lives of the more than 1500 people it supports. The Arc of Monroe plans to use the recreation grant funds to help the Chapter enhance recreational opportunities for the people with disabilities we support.
For 70 years, The Arc of Monroe has provided a variety of programs and services for over 1,500 people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families throughout Monroe County.
