The Arc of Monroe announces the addition of Michele Suhr as Vice President, Day and Residential Services. In this role, she is responsible for the operational oversight of the residential and day habilitation programs, providing support to 800 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

ArcWorks Celebrates 60 Years 

Rochester, N.Y.— An organization dedicated to helping people of all abilities held a signature celebration Friday.

ArcWorks is marking its 60th anniversary. The manufacturing facility is part of the Arc of Monroe, which provides the vital service of finding jobs for clients with developmental challenges.

Expanding Access in Exercising the Right to Vote

Fairport, N.Y. — The Arc of Monroe teamed up with the office of State Assemblywoman Jennifer Lunsford to provide more opportunities for people of all abilities in registering to vote.

This included a Board of Election presentation and mobile DMV unit.

The Arc of Monroe receives funding from Fairport event to enhance day service program  

The Arc Foundation of Monroe is the beneficiary of this year’s Steel Rail Revival Festival, receiving nearly $20,000 from the Fairport event.  

A portion of the proceeds from the festival will go to purchase musical instruments for The Arc of Monroe’s Community Arts Connection (CAC), a day service program that provides people with intellectual and developmental disabilities opportunities to learn new skills, build lasting friendships and give back to their community.  

Rochester Celebrities Light up the Dance Floor at Inaugural Dancing with The Arc Event

Rochester, N.Y. — Local celebrities were dancing the night away for a good cause at Innovative Field Tuesday. Five local celebrities teamed up with five people supported by the Arc of Monroe for the inaugural Dancing with the Arc.

Dancing with the Stars of our Community for a Cause

On Tuesday, September 5, the Arc of Monroe is hosting “Dancing with the Arc”, an inaugural dance competition that partners five Rochester celebrities with five people supported by the organization. The Arc of Monroe provides programs and services for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to enhance their quality of life.
