Self at the Strong
SELF at The Strong is an employment readiness service located at The Strong National Museum of Play. It is specifically designed for young people with autism to prepare them for eventual employment in our community.
Participants will have opportunities to engage in work internships and classroom learning, while being fully immersed in the business culture. This program will provide young people with opportunities to try unique internships to gain transferrable work skills.

- Potential internship opportunities in: Collections, Marketing & Communications, Education, Finance & Facilities, Exhibits and Interpretation of Electronic Games, Institutional Advancement, and Guest & Institutional Services
- Assessment of participants readiness for competitive employment will take place on a regular basis and participants and their supports will be given feedback in order to help reach the goal of employment.
Eligibility
- Eligible for Community Pre-Voc
- Must be OPWDD waiver enrolled
- Have a desire to work competitively
- Self-manage independently and self-medicate
