Behavior Management
The Arc provides Behavior Management Service to parents and guardians supporting a person with IDD in their home.
The Behavior Intervention Specialist provides a Functional Behavioral Assessment, Behavior Support Plan, and in-home behavior support, guidance and training.
Needs are met as required and as long as necessary.
The Behavior Intervention Specialist visits the home to evaluate the person and develop a support plan. Then, they teach the family effective tools and guide them on ways to help their loved one be as successful as possible. The plan includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Strategies for non-restrictive behavior management
- Identification of triggers and environmental supports
- Recommendations for additional services when appropriate
Eligibility
- Must be OPWDD eligible.
Quick Facts
- No age limit for participation.
- Open to anyone with I/DD who lives with their family.
- This is a Family Support Service, not a waiver service.
- People with self-directed plans must add this service to their budget.
