Youth Services

The Arc of Monroe offers several services for people under the age of 21. These services allow children and youth with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn new skills, foster independence, and become productive adults.

Behavior Management

The Arc of Monroe provides Behavior Management Service to parents and guardians supporting a person with intellectual or developmental disabilities in their home. The Behavior Management Specialist visits the home to evaluate the person and develop a support plan. Then, they teach the family effective tools and guide them on ways to help their loved one be as successful as possible.

Community Habilitation

Community Habilitation at The Arc of Monroe helps people become as independent as possibly by building daily living skills in the community while getting the opportunity to try new things and explore fun activities.

Family Reimbursement

This no-cost service can help alleviate expenses related to caring for someone with disabilities. Expenses available for reimbursement include, but are not limited to uncovered medical care, transportation, adaptive equipment, and therapies.

Health Homes Care Management

Health Homes Care Management The goal of the Health Home program is to make sure its members get the care and services they need. This may mean fewer trips to the emergency room or less time spent in the hospitals, getting regular care and services from doctors and providers, finding a safe place to live, and finding a way to get to medical appointments.

ROC Your Flight

This no-cost service prepares people and their families for flying out of the Greater Rochester International Airport. Traveling through a busy airport can be stressful. We make it fun and easy while families practice going through security, and even boarding a plane.

Self Direction

The Arc of Monroe provides Self Direction, including FI and Broker Services. Self Direction gives individuals with developmental disabilities (or the people who support them) the ability to decide on a mix of supports and services that work best for their needs. They and their families choose how they receive them and who provides them.

Family Services

The Arc of Monroe provides families with a variety of services to meet some of the challenges and issues associated with caring for their loved one.

Guardianship

The Arc of Monroe can provide guardianship services to those whose families are not able to do so. The Arc's Guardian Advocates become a part of a person's life, listening to their needs, and supporting them with important decisions in the areas of medical care, legal matters and finances.

Respite Recreation

The Arc of Monroe provides a wide range of community activities to help promote independence and social skills. The Recreation Coordinator develops a monthly calendar and distributes it to enrolled participants. When someone registers for an activity, we can provide their transportation to and from each event.
