Health Services
The Arc of Monroe’s Arc Health Services has been providing therapeutic, habilitative and clinical services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community for more than 20 years.
Our out-patient Article 16 Clinic certified by NYS OPWDD annually serves more than 700 people with varying needs from Western and Central New York.
Our Services
Nutrition
Provides education regarding hypertension, diabetes, obesity, renal failure. A prescription from the patient's PCP may be required for this service.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational services include evaluations/ training, therapeutic activities for patients needing a broad range of rehabilitative techniques that involve movement, the use of functional activities to restore functional performance in a progressive manner. This service requires a prescription from a PCP and is provided at our satellite clinics located at our Day Hab locations.
Physical Therapy
Evaluations and training surrounding gait, balance, obesity, injury. A prescription from the patient's PCP is required for PT services. PT is offered at the main location on Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road and at Day Hab locations.
Psychiatric Care
The Arc of Monroe provides psychiatric care for medication management by Dr. Susan Chlebowski, New York State Licensed Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Nurse, Maureen Kosmicki, RN.
Social Work Counseling
Individual talk therapy to address a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, sexual consent training, interpersonal relationships, daily stressors, identity, and many more.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy includes individual therapy, speech & language groups, feeding/ swallowing evaluations, alternative communication, speech evaluation, sign language support, assessment of receptive/ expressive skills.
Therapy Groups
The Arc Health Services provides the following Relationship Group, Interpersonal Skills Group, Music Therapy Group, Men's Group, Women's Group, DBT Group, CBT Group, Identity Group, Expressive Arts Group, Grief Group, Independent Living Skills. *Groups operate on a rotating basis. Please contact the Operations Treatment Coordinator for current list of available groups.
